Who Uses ON-SITE MEDICAL ASSESSMENTS
Who Uses ON-SITE MEDICAL ASSESSMENTS
Employers commission on-site medical assessments when they need to assess multiple employees at once, and sending each person to a clinic individually would be disruptive, expensive, or impractical.
Large pre-employment intakes. When an employer takes on a cohort of new starters, an on-site assessment day is more efficient than individual clinic appointments. We can see all new starters in one day at your premises.
Safety-critical industries. Construction, manufacturing, aerospace, and energy employers often need fitness assessments for site-based workers who cannot easily leave during shifts. On-site assessment removes the logistics problem entirely.
Annual health surveillance. Employers with COSHH or other health surveillance obligations can meet them through a scheduled on-site clinic day rather than managing individual appointments throughout the year.
Remote or dispersed workforces. When many employees are based at a site far from a PMC clinic, on-site assessment brings the service directly to them.
Workplace wellbeing events. Employers who want to offer health screening as a staff benefit can arrange an on-site clinic day open to all employees.

Types of On-Site Assessment WE PROVIDE
Types of On-Site Assessment WE PROVIDE
On-site pre-employment medicals. For employers taking on multiple new starters, we carry out pre-employment health screens at your premises. Each new starter is assessed individually, and a written report is issued following the visit. Particularly efficient for construction projects, manufacturing sites, and logistics operations taking on cohorts of workers at the same time.
On-site occupational health and fitness-for-work assessments. Where an employer needs to assess existing staff, our GPs carry out occupational health assessments on-site and produce individual written fitness-for-work reports.
Health surveillance visits. Employers with ongoing COSHH, night worker, or other health surveillance obligations can meet them through scheduled annual on-site clinic visits, rather than managing individual appointments across the year.
Workplace health screening. For employers who want to offer health checks as a staff benefit, we can arrange on-site screening covering blood pressure, cardiovascular risk, blood tests, and BMI.
Drug and alcohol testing. Where required by employer policy or industry regulation, we can incorporate drug and alcohol testing into an on-site assessment day.

Planning You ON-SITE ASSESSMENT DAY
Planning You ON-SITE ASSESSMENT DAY
A well-planned on-site assessment day runs smoothly for both the clinical team and the employer. Consider a few things when arranging one.
Space requirements. Our clinical team needs a private room or screened area for individual assessments. The space should be quiet and large enough for a desk and two chairs. For assessments that include an ECG or physical examination, a couch or raised surface helps but isn't always required.
Scheduling. We recommend 20 to 30 minutes per person for a standard occupational health assessment, and 15 minutes per person for a pre-employment medical or health surveillance check. We provide an appointment schedule in advance so you can coordinate attendance without disrupting shift patterns.
Documentation. Where employees have relevant medical records or referral information, having these available speeds up each assessment. We confirm what is needed before the visit.
Results and reports. We issue written reports within the agreed timeframe after the visit, typically two to five working days, and send them directly to the employer's nominated HR contact.
On-Site Medical Assessments: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We cover the whole of the UK. There is no minimum or maximum distance from our clinic locations. For remote sites, we factor travel time into the scheduling and cost. Contact us with your location and we will confirm availability and costs for your site.
A private, quiet room large enough for a desk and two chairs. For assessments that include a physical examination or ECG, a couch or raised surface is useful. We will confirm requirements specific to your assessment type when you book.
We recommend booking at least five working days in advance. For larger programmes or multi-site visits, more lead time helps with scheduling. Urgent arrangements can sometimes be accommodated for larger projects: contact us to discuss.
Yes. Our clinical team arrives with all equipment needed for the assessments booked: sphygmomanometer, ECG machine, phlebotomy equipment, urine testing supplies, and any assessment-specific kit. The employer does not need to provide any clinical equipment.
Yes. Drug and alcohol testing can be incorporated into an on-site assessment day where required by employer policy, industry regulation, or as part of a specific fitness-for-work assessment. Contact us to discuss the testing method and documentation appropriate for your sector.
Yes. We cover the whole of the UK, including sites outside major cities. Travel time and accommodation costs for distant sites are factored into the project quote. Contact us with your site postcode, and we will confirm availability.
On-site assessments start from £[PRICE] per person. For larger cohorts, day-rate packages offer better value. The final cost depends on the assessment type, number of employees, site location, and whether travel and accommodation are required for distant sites. Contact us for a project quote.
For standard occupational health assessments, most sites can accommodate 10 to 15 employees per full day. For pre-employment medicals and health surveillance checks, which take less time per person, we can assess up to 25 or more employees in a day, depending on the type of assessment.
Yes. Construction site assessments are among the most frequently requested on-site services we provide. We can carry out pre-employment medicals, fitness-for-work assessments, and health surveillance at construction sites. We work with the site H&S manager to identify suitable space and schedule employees around shift patterns.
We typically issue written reports within two to five working days of the visit, depending on the assessment type. Where results require laboratory processing (such as blood tests), reports are issued once those results are received and reviewed. We confirm the expected turnaround time before each visit.
Yes. There is no minimum number of employees for an on-site assessment. We work with small and medium-sized businesses as well as large employers. If only a small number of employees need assessing, it may also be worth considering whether clinic appointments are more cost-effective; we can advise on the best option for your situation.
On-site assessment visits can form part of an occupational health programme for employers who prefer not to maintain a rolling contract. We can carry out annual on-site visits for health surveillance, pre-employment medicals as needed, and management referrals either on-site or at a nearby clinic. Contact us to discuss an arrangement that fits your organisation's size and requirements.
