"As a GP with years of experience in both the NHS and the private healthcare sector, I’ve seen firsthand the growing challenges within our healthcare system. The NHS is a remarkable institution, but the increasing pressures on resources and time constraints are making it difficult for doctors to deliver the personalised care that every patient deserves. This is where I saw a need for change—a way to offer an alternative that complements the NHS while providing patients with more choice, more time, and more attention.
At Private Medical Clinic, we have created a space where patients are at the centre of every decision, and where healthcare is proactive, not reactive. I founded this clinic because I believe in the importance of offering a personalised, accessible, and efficient healthcare option for those seeking more than what overstretched systems can currently provide.

Everything you need to know about our clinics
We are a UK network of private clinics trading as Private Medical Clinic, with Khela Medical Limited as the legal entity. Our Medical Director is Dr Simon Khela, MBChB MRCGP, GMC 7419585, a GP with experience across both the NHS and the private sector. Clinical governance is led by Dr Sabina Hanoman-Singh, GMC 7419557.
Most appointments are with a GP. Some are delivered by another qualified clinician in our team, such as a practice nurse or a physician associate, working under GP supported clinical oversight. Your clinician confirms their name and role at the start of the consultation, and if you want a GP specifically you can ask for one when you book.
Often the same day, and usually within 48 hours. Availability differs by clinic, by service and by day, so the booking system shows live availability for the clinic you choose rather than a general promise. Telephone and video appointments are usually the quickest at short notice.
We have ten clinics: Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, London, Newcastle, Leicester, Bournemouth, Oxford, Derby, Manchester and Cambridge. Each clinic page lists its full address, opening hours, parking and the clinicians who work there.
Yes. Our clinics are CQC registered, which means they are regulated and inspected against UK standards for safety, staffing, record keeping and clinical governance. Every clinician who sees you is registered with the General Medical Council or their own professional regulator, and we publish GMC numbers in full so you can check the register yourself.
No. You keep your NHS registration and your NHS GP. We work alongside the NHS rather than replacing it, and we will say plainly when the NHS is the better route for you, particularly for emergencies, complex specialist care and anything requiring admission.
No. We are a pay as you go private service and you can book directly without a referral or a membership. If you hold private medical insurance you may be able to claim the cost back, and we can provide an itemised invoice, but we do not bill insurers directly.
Your records are held confidentially and processed under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We share information with your NHS GP or another clinician only with your consent, except where the law requires otherwise. Our privacy policy sets out how long we hold records and how you can request a copy.
