FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about our clinics
In the UK, plastic surgeon is a protected title and cosmetic surgeon is not. A plastic surgeon has completed full specialist training and is on the GMC Specialist Register in plastic surgery, which anyone can check in thirty seconds. Cosmetic surgeon carries no such requirement and can be used by a doctor from any background. Mr George is a consultant plastic surgeon on the Specialist Register.
Yes. His GMC reference number is 7013435, verifiable free on the General Medical Council's public register at gmc-uk.org. He is a consultant plastic, hand, reconstructive and peripheral nerve surgeon, a member of BAPRAS and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, and was named PLASTA Plastic Surgery Trainer of the Year for the UK and Ireland in 2025.
Peripheral nerve surgery relieves pressure on, or repairs, the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. In practice that means carpal tunnel syndrome at the wrist, cubital tunnel syndrome at the elbow, and nerve injuries in the hand and arm. It is for anyone whose numbness, tingling or weakness has become constant rather than intermittent, because a nerve left compressed too long does not fully recover.
Yes. He assesses you and operates himself, so you are not passed between a clinic doctor and an operating list. A surgical nurse is present throughout. The person who examined you and agreed the plan is the person holding the instruments, which is not the case everywhere, and it is worth asking any surgeon you consult.
The consultation is £195, it is with Mr George rather than an adviser, and it is redeemable against the cost of your surgery if you go ahead. It covers the examination, the diagnosis, what surgery would realistically achieve, the risks and a written quote. Nothing is performed at that appointment.
Breast surgery, abdominoplasty, liposuction, rhinoplasty and facelifts are not offered here, because they need a general anaesthetic and an overnight facility we do not have. Surgery is for adults aged 18 and over, since children need a general anaesthetic in a paediatric setting. We would rather say so than take a consultation fee and refer you elsewhere afterwards.
Ready to Take The Next Steps?
You can ask for Mr Samuel George by name when you book and we will offer her next available appointment. If you would rather be seen sooner, tell us what the problem is and we will find the earliest slot with a clinician who can deal with it. Same-day and next-day appointments are available at most clinics, and no referral is needed.
