A named supervising doctor, within Private Medical Clinic’s clinical governance framework. The Medical Director holds overall clinical accountability.
No. Physician Associates cannot prescribe in the United Kingdom. If you need a prescription, a supervising doctor reviews you at the same appointment and issues it, so you do not need a second visit.
Yes, by the General Medical Council, which became the statutory regulator for Physician Associates in December 2024.
Physician Associates cannot request ionising radiation such as X-rays or CT. A supervising doctor makes those requests. Non-ionising imaging such as ultrasound and MRI is arranged through the clinical team.
